SPACE IS LIMITED. Application deadline is May 30th. Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. A link will be sent only to confirmed participants. Those we are unable to accommodate can opt to be placed on a waiting list. No donation fee payments made until and unless you receive confirmation of participation.

Stefanie Etzbach-Dale is founder of TendingSpirit (see TendingSpirit website and follow the TendingSpirit Facebook page). She has over thirty years of experience leading support groups, retreats, and rituals, and companioning individuals through private pastoral counseling, mentoring, chaplaincy, and coaching sessions. An ordained minister with specialized training in spiritual psychology, and member of the Unitarian Universalist Association and Spiritual Directors International, she is deeply committed to “the sacred ground of the present” and to the creative power of the human imagination. Sonya Sukalski has been helping groups deepen in connection to both their spirits and the wider world for over a decade as a Unitarian Universalist Minister. She worked with young adults to found the Spiritual Activists Leading Together (SALT), designs and leads retreats for her minister's chapter, and delights in exploring the wilderness - both of the Sierra Nevada and internal spiritual kinds. This is for you if you are:
- grieving, anxious, feeling alone, helpless, unfocused, fearful, or numb
- having a hard time with current changes and uncertainties
- needing to reconnect with a sense of personal agency
- challenged to feel fully “present”, to connect with focus, joy, and gratitude
- wanting to make the most of your accumulated wisdom and skills
- wanting to participate in building a healthy and just society
Six Retreat Portals (ways to connect)
- Six 1 hour live group online sessions, Wednesdays 7:00-8:00 pm PST
- Six 20-minute recorded meditations (sent via email and posted on FaceBook)
- Six weekly Reflections & Resources emails including focus reflections for the week, as well as journaling prompts, poetry, artwork, links, books/film recommendations, spiritual practices, etc. (sent out each Saturday prior our Wednesday session on that topic)
- Three 30-minute individual private Zoom sessions with facilitator for each participant (times to be scheduled at start of the retreat)
- Closed Facebook group to creatively nourish and grow our connections throughout
- Six weekly 30-minute drop-in “office hours” with our facilitators (times to be posted each week)
What you will experience:
A professionally facilitated online retreat, made accessible through various points of entry and opportunities for engagement. Over the course of six weeks you will:
- Receive affirmation of what’s going on for you right now
- Unpack the reality and effects of loss and grief
- Learn the benefits of letting go consciously
- Identify and claim your strengths, values, and possibilities
- Link your will with skills that will help you show up with curiosity, creativity, compassion
- Celebrate the gifts of the present and access support for the future
- Given the current situation, we are offering the full 6-week program for only $100 and directing all proceeds to benefit organizations responding to needs arising from Covid-19.
- No fee donations paid until you receive confirmation of participation.
- Scholarships available - no one turned away for lack of funds. No refunds.
- Pay the fee directly to the charity of your choice, or pay us and we’ll take care of forwarding it.
- This is not therapy, and does not replace any existing therapeutic relationships. Our facilitators are professional clergy with decades of experience bringing care, compassion, and wisdom to people of all backgrounds. Please see facilitator information included below..
- Participation requires access to and familiarity with Zoom and FaceBook, the ability to commit to being in a quiet, private space during live sessions, and the willingness to honor Touchstones, Technology Tips, and Boundaries for our time together (see Application form on drop-down menu).
- Space is limited. Only a certain number of applicants can be accommodated - so apply early and wait to receive confirmation of your acceptance as a participant before submitting the fee. Those we are unable to accommodate can opt to be placed on a waiting list for early admission to future retreats.
- Access to the closed FB group and the link to the Wednesday sessions will only be sent to confirmed participants.
